Riser & Lateral System

Unique modular PE system for multi occupancy dwellings

The WASK Riser & Lateral system comprises a range of dedicated corrosion resistant metal fittings, which can be attached to the outside wall of a building.

Our Advantages

  • SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES INSTALLATION TIME

The PE pipe and GRP cover sleeve are light weight, simple to cut to length and can be easily and quickly joined

  • MAINTENANCE FREE & CORROSION RESISTANT

Installations have 50 year design life, ideal for even the most demanding locations

    50 Years
  • COST EFFECTIVE SOLUTION

Shows saving of around 50% compared to an all steel system.

Case Study

Kirkgate House, Leith, Edinburgh

Project

Upgrade the gas service pipe network to a high rise social housing block to ensure continuous and reliable gas supplies.

Problem

Replace the corroded steel gas service pipe network on the north and south side of an 18 storey, high rise social housing block to ensure continuous and reliable gas supplies.

Solution

Install a new polyethylene network of risers & laterals to ensure at least a 50 year lifespan.

The installation and commissioning of each riser took less than a week utilising a cherry picker which made upgrading significantly quicker than the traditional method of scaffolding and offers additional Health & Safety benefits for installers.

5 Step INSTALLATION

Standard PE pipe connects to each fitting using the WASK site-assembled crimp joint to complete the system. The supply enters each dwelling through an outside wall by means of a WASK house entry tee or house entry elbow.

step-1

Step 1

Establish and mark meter location. Select position for the riser & mark with vertical line. Next, mark a horizontal line from the entry point to the vertical line. Core drill each entry position.

step-2

Step 2

Align riser fittings and mark screw fixtures. Drill anchor screw holes and secure to wall using fittings provided.

step-3-new

Step 3

Measure distances between fittings and cut lengths of PE pipe & GRP sleeves. Loosen each fitting in-turn to attach PE pipe and GRP sleeve then crimp joints.Secure fitting to wall.

step-4

Step 4

Pull sleeving into place to complete joints.

step-5

Step 5

Secure GRP with plastic pipe clips.

step-6

Step 6

Project complete.
